Royce Wilson…

I have more than 4 decades in law enforcement forensics, working in every capacity from Crime Scene Investigator with the Tampa Police Department, to fingerprint expert and up to Director of Forensics with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Tampa, Florida. I also taught Criminal Forensics and Death Investigations as an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice with the University of North Georgia. I love Dahlonega!

During my career, I have covered a lot of ground, working in crime scenes, ranging from burglaries, to robberies, sexual batteries, homicides, and everything else—including at least 7 different serial murder investigations.

I am huge college football fan—Go Gators!

and…

Go USF Bulls!…they educated me, which was not an easy task!

I now relax at my home near central Florida where I enjoy writing and spending time with my wife, Linda, our psycho cat, Sterling, and friends and family.

What Others Are Saying…

“Royce Wilson has managed to take decades of police detective experience and parlay it into a wonderful series of crime drama. The books are a great blend for fans of true crime, as well as police mystery books. Wilson has a secret weapon that the other writers don’t have: real-life police and crime scene experience.

Working in the law enforcement field, the book feels authentic, because it is. The steps that the police characters take are what law enforcement professionals would do—that is why they feel like true crime books.

“Royce Wilson is a talented writer with the skills to develop riveting plots with nitty-gritty realistic details of the crimes and clues in his books. His decades of experience as a detective show in the careful details he creates. If you like realistic police procedurals, you will love Royce Wilson’s stories.”—Dallas Gorham, Author

The books are written from the perspective of a long-time law enforcement crime scene detective. However, Wilson managed to make an engaging page turning novel. I planned to read the book for about 30 minutes before bedtime, I ended up reading for another two hours!”—Kevin French, Sheriff’s Office Investigator and Police Academy Instructor

“Royce Wilson takes you inside the detective's mind as he deals with facts, fears, and office politics, while the body count is rising. - and the killer is still one step ahead of him and all he holds dear. He leads the reader through all the possible solutions and relationships until the "aha" moment.”—Anne Childers, Author

“If you want to learn the truth of how homicide detectives operate, this is the book for you.”—Kindle Customer

A few words from me…

If you enjoy tightly written stories, with unexpected twists and surprise endings, AND, you want an inside look at how crime scene investigators, detectives, suspects, and prosecutors really think, speak, interact, and act during an investigation, you should read my books.

Some of my readers have compared my novels to James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, and Michael Connelly—high praise indeed for a mystery writer! Very humbling.
